Thank you for sending us your scenarios and illustrations to tory Writing and Illustration Award 2013 presented by Voltage Inc.

With the global expansion of our game, “My Romance Series,” we wanted many scenarios and illustrations from overseas applicants for this year’s contest.

We received many applications two years in a row.

We have selected 3 awards of excellence illustrators and 2 special awards for the International Illustration Category

The judges would like to comment for each of the prizewinners.

Unfortunately, the Grand Prize for the Illustration Category was not given out for two consecutive years.
It was a close call, but we did not see any illustration that deserves this prize.

Award of excellence winner, Shirosaki’s illustration showed good taste in character design and had a handsome character.
Shirosaki was successful in drawing the male characters with different personality.
The beautiful illustration had motion and the use of color was very detailed.
On the other hand, Shirosaki has a unique way of drawing the face, which may result in having strong likes and dislikes.
We believe the illustration will improve greatly with more effort.

Another award of excellence winner, Kanna’s illustration has an eye-catching composition. Despite the difficult composition, she managed to draw them exquisitely with technique.
We would advise to use more feminine colors that woman like.
The two characters with different personality were drawn well, and the lines were strong and stable.
We think the illustration would greatly improve with more focus on the details.

Award of excellence winner, Fuyumiya’s illustration was lively and youthful. One can feel the illustrator’s feeling in the illustration, and the character’s emotions were drawn delicately. The different kinds of emotions were expressed well and the male character was very attractive and moving.

Next is the International Illustration Catgory.
We were impressed by Brilcrist’s beautiful usage of color, which expressed the texture of skin very beautifully. The expression of the full body illustration was drawn carefully to the details and the man is very attractive.
The still illustration has good composition and has nice romantic mood.

The full body illustration of Makoto Umi has nice expression, is unique, and is colored carefully. The still illustration has style and Umi drew a complex composition very well. On the other hand, it would have been better if it had a more romantic mood.

At last, we would like to congratulate the prizewinners once again.
We hope this will be a first step for them, as they go on to become professional creators.
