Thank you for sending us your scenarios and illustrations to Story Writing and Illustration Contest 2014 presented by Voltage Inc.

This year marks the third year for the Story Writing and Illustration Awards, and our second year opening up this contest to the rest of the world. We have gathered a great number of submissions from around the globe, including for the first time ever, scenarios.
We have put the submissions through rigorous deliberation and have chosen one as a first prize.
This year also marks the first year we have offered a First Prize in the Illustration category! One submission in the Illustration category has been chosen as the top prize, while our Award for Excellence goes to three talented individuals.
In the Writing category, we have one first prize winner along with three winners for our Award for Excellence.
In the International category, one scenario and one art submission both received honorable mention.

The judges would like to comment on each of the prizewinners.

Our first ever first prize goes to Yazawa!
Your character design and originality won the judges over, and it was a unanimous decision to give our highest award to your submission.
The judges also were especially impressed by the different artistic styles you used to represent each character. Both looked exceptionally fantastic.
The illustration also garnered great praise for its energetic composition and the unprecedented design. Congratulations on your well-deserved win.

Our Award for Excellent goes to Izumi tenu !
It was clear that you really challenged the medium with a refreshing and novel form of composition. It was an exceptional piece, filled with a beautiful sensuality. However, the judges felt that the piece had a boy's-comic vibe, and were split down the middle.
The work should appeal to more feminine tastes. While the artwork was truly noteworthy, please try and keep the romance app fan base in mind while creating future works. We look forward to seeing future submissions.

Congratulations to our second Award of Excellence winner, Sasaoka.
Your work was clearly tailored toward fans of romance apps and it immediately caught the judges' eyes.
Continuing to hone your artistic talent and keeping a tight focus on the detailing in the clothes and fashion will help bring your pieces to the next level.

Congratulations to our third and final winner of the Award for Excellence, Mukuro.
The differences in expressions you created for your characters were greatly applauded and the sharp, clear edges on each of their faces were highly praised.
Your first character was especially well liked, while the judges thought your second character could have used more magnetism to make him more interesting.
By adding more variation to your style, the judges believe you can create amazingly attractive characters and they look forward to seeing future works.

We now have our International category's selections.
For the first time this year, we accepted submissions not only for illustrations but for scenario writing, as well.

For the illustrations, the judges found SILOY's piece absolutely incredibly. The submission was very impressive and had an original art style that really caught the attention of the judges.

It was the first year opening up the Writing section to our international fans and we garnered an incredible number of very high-quality submissions. Zoe's work, "RECKLESS" got honorable mention this year. The judges felt your story of two detectives and the love triangle that ensues was absolutely spellbinding.
